I was 27 years old when I sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury in an automobile accident.
Things that have helped me have been doing things in a routine or the same way or manner. Not changing things up or doing things differently have helped me out. My short-term memory loss has been a real barrier for me.
What I would like the community to know about Traumatic Brain Injury is that you don’t have to be in a wheelchair or walk with a cane or missing any part of their body to have a Traumatic Brain Injury. They look like everyone else.

This is where I could have ended up, but it wasn’t time yet. So I have to keep trying because I got a second chance to live, where others didn’t.
