Angel Murillo

Photo of Angel Murillo.

I was 31 years old when I was assaulted by a group of men and sustained my TBI.

A barrier has been not being able to get back on track with my life. I have had depression due to being wrongly convicted of assault when attacked. It has been difficult to get back on track. What has helped me, is my faith in God and relying on him for direction.

As someone with a family responsibility, I have worked hard to keep my family safe. I would like more understanding from agencies when I reach out for services. Love is power.

As we experience a head injury, we experience a tragedy that no one understands. We don’t understand the situation of our head injury. All we know is that we have certain gifts in life from the higher power; he gives me wisdom for my path of life.

As for me, it was being sensitive to the higher power to keep a blessing away from the negativity of the world. Like asking the higher power to bring the power of the sun to break through any misunderstandings.

As the energy of the moon brings calmness and peace with love, so understanding can come our way with agencies such as CCCIL, the TBI support group and certain people that come our way that offer help. The waves of the ocean can bring us a new way to cope with life with our head injury, to show me a new way of life.
